Archer on FX = Win
I don’t know how else to say this… or how many times I need to say it… YOU NEED TO BE WATCHING THIS. This is probably one of the best TV shows I’ve seen in a long time. Ya, there are others that are favorites of mine (the list is short)… and I’m sure someone could launch some sort of comparison to South Park or Family Guy… and they’re awesome in their own ways. Just like this is awesome in its own way. Not up past 10pm on a Thursday? There are repeats. It’s on iTunes and the Hulu now …
Tax Season is Over (for me)
Tomorrow will finish off this years 2009/2010 tax season for me. My NY state refund should be deposited tomorrow morning and that’ll be the last of my tax activity for this year. The “pending” transaction has actually been in my checking account for 3 or 4 days, so I know it’ll go through (not just guessing here). Thankfully I haven’t really budgeted that money for anything specific (only $110 anyway) so it’ll really just be absorbed into my account and build a bit of a cushion for day to day transactions. I’m also contemplating what to do with my Corning …
I Don't Understand TV Stations
Why do I need to watch the same exact commercials at every commercial break? If I’m watching a show – be it a half hour or many hours long – there is no need to show me the same damn commercials at every break. If I didn’t buy the shit you’re advertising during the first break, I’m sure as hell not going to buy it in the second commercial break. I understand brand identity and that sort of thing and trying to get your name known, but it is ANNOYING. Would it really be that hard to just alternate commercials …
Winter / Spring TV to Watch
I already mentioned Archer the other day on FX… but almost forgot about two other shows that just got into new seasons and you should be watching. Chuck has returned to NBC for Season 3. Good stuff. A lot of it is quite corny and sad – but the show really isn’t awful. Plus, who doesn’t love Adam Baldwin in this? Really? And let’s not get started on Sarah. It should suffice to say that you should be watching Chuck. At least give it a try. Check out Hulu if you want to pick up on some back episodes. What …
More TV You Should Be Watching
I like very little on TV. You might already know that. Occasionally I do come across something awesome though. I have found a new such program… FX has a new show from some of the Adult Swim guys. It’s called Archer and it is hilarious. Seriously I can’t believe some of this stuff is on cable – albeit after 10pm in primetime. Seriously Lana, call Kenny Loggins cause you’re in the danger zone. Fantastic. Much potential in this one. Hopefully FX keeps it running.
Lost: The End is Near
FINALLY. Lost is returning to ABC. It feels like this has been dragging on for like 5 years… oh wait, it has. I never got into Lost when it started. Don’t think I even watched a single episode. Eventually I got into it at some point by downloading full seasons… um… illegally. Starting February 2nd, Lost returns for its final season. Hopefully with some damn answers. Until then, I’m starting to catch up on past episodes thanks to Netflix and my PS3. Watch Instantly is f-ing awesome. It’s all in HD and looks great. Jen hasn’t really seen much of …
Mad Men, Mad World
There’s something about Mad Men on AMC. I can’t stop watching it. It’s not like it is any crazy, action-filled show of madness and intensity. I don’t know if it is the writing or the actors. Is the story that good? Are they selling it that well? Strange because it often feels slow moving and boring. Then they just broadside you or something and I’m dragged back in. Can’t… stop… it. Maybe it is because it is about a time that I never knew – and while not necessarily “based on a true story” … I feel that there is …
Insurance Saving Commercials
Is there anyone left out there that doesn’t realize you can save money on car insurance? Have there not been enough commercials to drill this point home? Geico, Progressive, Allstate, State Farm, everyone else… really, we get it. Yes, people can save money on car insurance. There are lots of ways – even without changing companies. The thing is, if you haven’t shopped for car insurance for many years, you will probably save money with ANYONE compared to where you are now. If you haven’t learned that much at this point, just give up. On everything. If you want to …
We Get it Already
At what point do the parents in the AT&T commercial just abandon their retarded children? The rest of the world understands that rollover minutes are the same as regular minutes by now… what is wrong with these kids that they don’t get it? Are they slow? Is there something wrong with them? Could it be fixed by a couple slaps to the head? Maybe something a little more severe? I have a hammer… Really though, we understand the rollover idea now. If people truly don’t get it at this point, maybe we just need to put them down to save …
Back in Reality
Can someone explain to me where these women are in the Enzyte (and other ED commercials) are? Because I’m pretty sure that it is all a sham. Normally people don’t go around in public bragging about their hard-on. And when they do, they are considered huge perverts and maybe even arrested for sexual harassment. Apparently in Enzyte land, all of the women at your workplace and backyard party will just be lining up to sit on your lap when they find out you can get it up. Ya… that seems realistic. Maybe we should put that to the test? Just …
