Was just reading this story on Engadget about Android eclipsing iOS as the largest mobile platform in the US. My initial reaction? No shit!? There are currently 35 different smartphones available in the US according to Google. And that’s across multiple carries and manufacturers! You know how many iOS smartphones there have been in total? Just 4. On one carrier. Why is this even a story? Of course Android is going to top iOS in [...]

News Stuffs Random Thoughts
Not too long ago I got kind of bored of Engadget and TUAW and went out looking for some more gadget/tech news sites. I realize most of these things are technically still just “blogs” … but is it so much to ask to try to have a little professionalism and integrity in your stories? Maybe all of the commotion of the iPhone 4 is just too much for some people to handle. But now I’m [...]

It’s kind of funny actually. I had this whole “draft” post started and ready to just fill in some details an hit the Publish button. Then I saw it… And I’m still kind of… confused. I mean, I think it looks OK. Sort of. I don’t know. There are parts I like and parts I’m not fond of – but I don’t think I’d say that it’s awful. I just don’t know what to think. [...]

No, really, why bother? If the FIA is going to make teams change things for not being in the “spirit” of the rules but still within the letter of the rule, why even bother having rules? IMO, the FIA is basically saying “Yes, you followed the rule that we wrote – but we meant for you to do this instead.” So F-ING write it that way! Specifically I’m referring to the latest news that McLaren, [...]

Just admit it people… If you were trying to find some good free porn on the internet, “accidentally” downloaded some special “viewer” from a random website and now are infested with all sorts of spyware… DO NOT tell the computer people fixing your system that you were just trying to watch the news on CNN or something. We know you’re lying. CNN does not infect you with spyware. Random, unsafe porn sites and their ‘free [...]

This pretty much sums up America in some ways. Just look at the image to the right and take that in for a few seconds. A news story about Tiger Woods in a car accident is more popular than a story about some lunatic killing 4 cops in cold blood. What. The. Fuck? Can someone explain to me why this society is so fixated on “celebrities?” The number of “reality” shows should really drive this [...]

For an urgent report! Details are sketchy at this point but we have word that reporters CAN’T DRIVE! Really though, no idea what happened here but spotted it at a local body shop and thought it was amusing. No idea if they had to report on their own accident or not. Hopefully no one was hurt… but come on. This is kind of funny.

While I kind of agree with “Bristol’s” views on abstinence and it just not really being realistic for teenagers and sex ed kind of stuff, I really wish someone would have coached her for this interview or something. My grammar and speech are far from perfect… but I try to at least sound like a grown up. Most of the time. I also realize this girl is only 18, but she has at least been [...]

What the fuck is wrong with this guy? And this state? That is why, in the state budget I presented last Tuesday, I proposed a tax on sugared beverages like soda. Research has demonstrated that soft-drink consumption is one of the main drivers of childhood obesity. Where do I start… Oh I don’t know… hows abouts… how the hell does it become my problem that parents let their kids drink so much soda that the [...]

CNN has a story that caught my eye about tigers killing someone. Apparently it was just the cleaner who jumped into their moat, presumably to clean it. My condolences to the guy’s family… but really. Most of the story means nothing… it was the last part the caught my eye. He said the zoo has temporarily closed the tiger exhibit and police are investigating the incident. Investigating? Really? What is there to investigate? They’re tigers. [...]
