Money Money Money Money Money!

Your return has been processed. A direct deposit of your refund is scheduled to be issued on (FEBRUARY 09, 2010). If your refund is not credited to your account within 15 days of this date, check with your bank to find out if it has been received. Yay for my NY taxes being deposited next week. Will be able to get this tax season done and over with. Then I can look forward to my bonus later this month! And maybe I can even find out about a raise or something later this year. Maybe. That would be pretty awesome.

Car Insurance Shenanigans

It may come as a surprise to some of you, but I actually have a clean driving record (for the last 3 years as far as insurance is considered anyway). Even with what I drive and the way I drive, I’m clean. So is Jen. This makes it very difficult for me to understand why my insurance continues to climb EVERY six months. “Oh we had to adjust our policies for NY state.” Shenanigans! There’s no reason for my policy to go up $60-$70 every six months for “adjustments” or whatever. Can’t be possible. Well today I received the renewal …

Another One Bites the Dust

No, not the Queen song. Another “one” being another one of my credit accounts. I have scheduled my final payment of my Chase account. $400-something. Should deduct the day after my taxes are deposited. Can’t wait. That makes two big things taken off of my monthly budget so far… though the minimum payment for my Chase was only something like $20 anyway. So it doesn’t really make too much matter to my usable income – but it does make quite an impact on my credit and debt to credit and such. Now to just get to work on the rest …

2010 Taxes Updated

Your tax refund is scheduled to be direct deposited on January 27, 2010. Woo! About 1 day shy of last year’s ridiculously fast deposit (unofficially anyway). Though it is possible I may get it sooner – it is just unlikely. I looked up last year’s status and they were dead on for the actual deposit. Either way, I’d be happy with Wednesday. Then I can actually put the money to use and pay some shit off. Even more shit that is. Collection account being paid is HUGE. This will just give me more of a cushion – which I need. …

Collections Account PAID OFF

I’m working on the “more money” part. Eventually. Today I was able to schedule my final collections payment of $500. FINALLY. It has taken almost 4 years… and about $7000, but I’m officially done. And I now officially will have $250 more per month to pay other things. Specifically most of that will to my other credit cards. Even if I don’t use the full $250 to pay those down, I’ll be able to make a lot more progress than I have been. It’ll be even better after I pay off my Chase account from my goalsharing money next month. …

Trying to Speed Up the Process

Did something different this year with my taxes. I filed without my W2… *gasp*!! What do I need it for anyway? I’m good at math. I can figure things out. I have all stuff from the past years returns. I just compared numbers on last year’s W2 and last year’s tax filing and figured out what I needed to fill in. So I was able to figure out my W2/income numbers. I received my 1098-E from AES. Was able to pull my 1099-INT info from CCU. Also had to pull 1099-DIV info from my stock. These numbers are easy. And …

Give Me My Money!

I was just checking into some tax things this week. Ya, I know we’re not even through the first week of the new year – but I want my money ASAP! My student loan interest should be available a week from tomorrow. I should eventually receive interest/dividend notices from CCU and for my stock. Those don’t take look. Last year I waited the longest for my W2 from Corning. That arrived on the 23rd and I had already started my return by then so just plugged in some numbers and *poof* they were done. I’m hoping it will all go …

Some 2009 Gas Stats

Just a couple things to share from 2009. Specifically what I spent on gas. Trivial, sure… but I’ve been tracking the money I spend on gas for about 4 years now. Not sure why… just kind of like to know – that, and I like to be able to factor it into my budget. Overall I spent $1122.21 on gas in 2009. That’s down from just over $1900 in 2008 and well over $2000 in 2007. I’m certainly driving a lot less lately – except the summer is still busy. For a while a couple years ago I was spending …

Ready or Not, Here it Comes

Christmas. I’m trying to be ready. I want to be done and ready before the last “rush” the week of. I want to have to do nothing at that point. As you can see here, I’ve updated my “christmas spending” chart… what of what could that “other” source be?! I can’t give away the secret though! Here’s some quick numbers from this year… Spending so far: $821.71 Packages received today: 6 Packages in the mail: 3 Presents wrapped today: 8-ish Still to wrap: ????

It's That Time of Year Again

Time for the holiday which shall rename nameless. You know, where everyone spends everything they have to make everyone else happy? Ya, that one. The spending has begun. As you can see from this handy chart – I’ve jumped in head first. I’m happy to report that I’m almost done. This includes money already spent and money planned to be spent. It does NOT include a couple other things that I’m still trying to decide on. Of course… I can’t give much more detail than that… and the “other” category is to disguise an obvious gift… though the amount is …
