That Google+ Thing

I don’t like Facebook. That’s no secret. Problem is… if you want to see and be seen, you practically NEED to be on Facebook. I find it quite annoying. I also find all of their settings/options/functionality very annoying. Nothing is simple or straight forward. At all. Enter Google. It’s still WAY too early to tell… but they may have something very cool on their hands. And if you’re lucky enough to get in at this [...]

SCCA World Challenge Schedule for Google Calendar

Along with the other calendars I’ve setup (F1 and WGI) for sharing/import into Google Calendar, I’ve just now created another new one. This one is for SCCA Pro Racing’s World Challenge series. And similar to my WGI calendar, this includes the event dates with just a location. There are no specific details on the daily schedules and really, nothing more than the World Challenge website offers – but this can at least be imported to [...]

2011 Formula 1 Race Schedule

I don’t need anything fancy… and I don’t want to spend 30 minutes looking for exactly what I want… so I just make my own. If anyone is interested, I created a calendar in Google of the 2011 race dates on the Formula 1 calendar. Just the races with the location. No practice. No qualifying. No test sessions. And not even times. Just the races and their dates so I know which race is when [...]

Shocking News: People are Dumb

Was just reading this story on Engadget about Android eclipsing iOS as the largest mobile platform in the US. My initial reaction? No shit!? There are currently 35 different smartphones available in the US according to Google. And that’s across multiple carries and manufacturers! You know how many iOS smartphones there have been in total? Just 4. On one carrier. Why is this even a story? Of course Android is going to top iOS in [...]

Custom Search Added

Doing a little site maintenance lately… You probably have noticed a few more ads around the area here. I’ve tried to keep it fairly tasteful as far as advertisement intrusion goes… except for the bottom of the page. The footer is just a whore house of advertisements. Also worth noting, I’ve added a custom search to the site. If you notice on the left, there is a new search box… that particular search is ONLY [...]

Stupidity Defined

So the Nexus One is a cool phone. It’s brand new, has the Google rep behind it, runs the latest Android version, etc, etc, etc. You can buy one on contract with T-Mobile for $180. Really not a bad price for a phone of that nature and of that power. If you’d like to use it on another GSM network (AT&T? Well, minus the 3G part anyway) you can buy an unlocked directly from Google [...]

New Picasa Spam?

A while back I got a weird email that appeared to be from Google’s Picasa service. It honestly looked like spam. The account name was some random website and I didn’t even bother to read the rest. I actually assumed that it was some phishing attempt and marked it as spam in Gmail. Then I got another one. And another one today. It’s not phishing… but appears to be random spam via Picasa. Somehow these [...]

Google Chrome Thoughts

When Google Chrome first was released I downloaded it and tried it out. It was speedy, but not for me. I rely on too many things with Firefox that I cannot live without. Specifically some of the Firefox Extensions out there like Adblock Plus, Xmarks, etc. I can’t browse the internet with ads anymore thanks to Adblock. It’s ridiculous, the difference. Xmarks is awesome for syncing my bookmarks between systems. I’m currently running Xmarks on [...]

Microsoft Bing Fail

So in case you didn’t know… I offered to get a website setup for Jen’s mom’s non-profit business (the Grief Center of the Southern Tier. Nothing fancy. Just some WordPress love with a clean theme, nice banner, and an events plugin. So I just did all of this over the past weekend and I’ve been waiting to see when the indexes would be updated and I’d start seeing it some search engines. Today appears to [...]
