Where You Should Not Be Checking In
Everyone seems to want to play Foursquare in their own little way… Thankfully, most people are at least somewhat on the same page. There are others, however, that seem to want to do things… a little differently. These are just a few things that bother me about people using Foursquare (no, it’s not about Indonesians!)… all just personal opinion though. We are still allowed to have those… right? Highways and roads… We get it. You’re in traffic. It sucks. It’s like a parking lot (or not). But checking into the highway you’re currently on is not only dangerous (hello? you’re …
I Think I’ve Had About Enough
Consider this scenario… Someone wants to spend $28k at your car dealership and has money available. Do you… a) Try to help out, but put forth no actual effort? b) Do everything possible to accommodate and inform the buyer of options? c) Just blow the buyer off. You didn’t need that sale anyway. Let’s just say that if you pick A or C, I’m done doing business with you. Yes this related to my new car shopping and a certain Ithaca dealership. As of this writing, I think I’m at the final point of my patience. Here’s the latest problem… …
How Come No One Wants to Get Back to Me?
Is customer service dead? Three times this week I’ve emailed a company using their online form on their website… and I have yet to receive an actual response from any one of them. First was another car dealer… they have a Sales Request form on their site. I filled it out asking about a price for a specific new car. I got not one, but TWO canned email responses saying someone would contact me soon. That was Monday. Fail. I also emailed a tint shop in Rochester from their website. I wanted to find out pricing for getting my (eventual) …
Respectable News Blogs: Hard to Find
Not too long ago I got kind of bored of Engadget and TUAW and went out looking for some more gadget/tech news sites. I realize most of these things are technically still just “blogs” … but is it so much to ask to try to have a little professionalism and integrity in your stories? Maybe all of the commotion of the iPhone 4 is just too much for some people to handle. But now I’m on the search for more tech/gadget news sources as two of my new ones are really letting me down lately. The first one is more …
My 32GB iPhone 4 is Preordered
Is yours?
I don’t remember having this much trouble last year when I bought my 3GS but this was certainly what I would label an “ordeal” … if there ever were such a thing.
It’s just a preorder, right? How bad could it be? That bad.
What is Toyota’s Major Malfunction?
If there’s one thing the internet car world has been patiently waiting for in the past few years, it is the the Toyota FT-86. The design was practically an instant classic. You’d be hard pressed to find anyone that really didn’t like it (though they are out there). The promise of a fairly affordable, fun, good-looking, rear wheel drive coupe was salivating… it would just take time. I honestly can’t remember how far back the rumors go. Probably at least 2 or 3 years at this point. The concept debuted some time last year and we were ready. By “we” …
New Twist on Nigerian Email Scams?
Got this in my spam box: ACCEPT MY APOLOGIES AND HELP ME. My Dear One, I am LINDA LEVIS, 22 years old and I have lost my parents. Please help me to invest the money my late father left for me and also help me come over to your country to continue my education. The money is $6,500,000.00 USD and it is still in the bank. I promise to give you 15% if you can help me. Reply me back for more information. Thanks and God bless. Best regards, LINDA LEVIS. Just awesome. The “from” address was l.levis1988@btopenworld.com… but the …
I Hate You, ABC… So Much
I almost don’t want to watch the last episodes of Lost now. I’m worried about how awful they really will be. And that assumption has nothing to do with how awful some of the other episodes have been lately. Last night I finished watching the American version of Life on Mars. It was originally a British TV show that ran for 2 seasons over there and ended (not canceled, I don’t think, just ended). I liked it. The show had a lot going for it. And apparently ABC agreed and decided to make a version for US TV. So you …
Foursquare Checkin Problems, Again
There appear to be some issues with Foursquare checkins at the moment. I noticed it when I was on my way home and reported it to their help forum. I also tweeted about it but have yet to see any specific acknowledgment from the company yet. It seems that checkins are counting… sort of. I checked into two places on my way home. Ousted someone for mayorship of the first venue. And then had to create and check into the second. Both of my checkins show up on the venue pages and I was awarded that mayorship. But those checkins …
