Credit Reports Revisited

If you’ve been playing along, you by now know that I no longer have access to my credit score from my WaMu credit card. It has officially changed to Chase and that feature is no longer available. So what is a guy to do? I just want to try to track my credit score as I attempt to rebuild my credit… I don’t want some stupid “monitoring” service. And the free credit report from the government doesn’t give the actual score. It helps to check your info and all, but no score, less useful. I have found an alternative. Credit …

While I Can Still Look

It looks like this will be the last month that WaMu will be able to show me my credit score for free. As of March 1, the JP Morgan Chase shenanigans take over and I won’t be able to see it anymore for free. Of course… I’m more than welcome to pay $8/mo for their “credit builder” service. Fuckers. Anyway, it looks like my Feb score was actually posted just recently (and early). So how bad is it? Well, it went up 23 points, so not bad at all! That’s my largest one month gain in quite a while and …

More Progress and Chase Sucks

It’s that time of the month… debt update! So I think all of my accounts have posted their new statements and my revolving debt is now down to: $8842.76. This is compared to $9030.23 at the end of last month for a difference of $187.47 (compared to last month’s difference of $171.65). Not a huge drop, but I’m at least below $9k again. That makes me happy. I also started a new plan of paying only minimum on all but one account. Then use the few $ extra from the other accounts to focus on that one account first. Get …

Credit Score Update

Time for my mid-month credit score update, I suppose. Last month’s news wasn’t so good. A 15 point drop is not really what I’m going for. Fortunately I knew exactly what caused that drop last month – very high balances. Unfortunately the balances didn’t really change too much this month (hello taxes and goalsharing?). Somehow though, my credit score creeped up a little. Up 3 points to start out the year. I’ll take it. And it’s really only up from here, hopefully. We’ll just have to see how it goes for the rest of the year.

Credit Score News

Not so good news on the credit score front…. which basically means that it went down this month. How much? Fifteen points. But I actually expected it at this point. My balances are high, so my debt to credit ratio is f’d in the a right now. Like I said, I expected it for now. Until I can start to get those balances down to reasonable amount, it’s not going to be good. I have a year or two to get it where I want, and I’ll be on my way there after I get some more disposable income to …
