I’m Above Average
With regards to iPhone user App purchases anyway… anything else is up for debate. A story on TUAW says that the average iPhone user has spent about $80 on apps with an average of 65 apps per user… working out to an average spent of about $1.56 per app. Me? According to my email receipts from Apple, I’ve spent roughly $198 on about 104 apps (before tax). That works out to about $1.90 per app for me. I’ve had a lot of free ones (obviously) and a lot of paid ones. I don’t know exactly how many of each, but …
Apple Update Day
Lots of new from Apple today (as just about every other blog on the internet is going to report). Real quick, here’s what I got out of it… though I’m sure there were more details that I don’t care about: New version of iTunes Better App management and screen arrangement New Nanos w/ video camera (no still pics though!) Lower prices and higher capacities for the Touch Genius for Apps in the App Store Madden NFL 10 for Touch/iPhone Now lets talk about that last point for just a minute… I normally don’t give two craps about Madden (at least …
Four Free iPhone Twitter Apps Compared, Poorly
I’m still new to Twitter… fo sho’. I’m still really trying to get a grasp on what apps work for me and what don’t. When I’m on one of my computers, I’ll often just use twitter.com or sometimes TweetDeck on my windows system or Tweetie on OS X (that changes a lot). Of course, both of those are subject to be rejected at any time when I find something nicer. I’m having the same issues on the iPhone, so I thought I’d take a VERY brief look at four big free Twitter apps for the iPhone. Specifically, Twitterrific, Tweet, TweetDeck, …
iPhone Blogging
I forgot to mention that one of the other bonuses to me switching to WordPress is that there is an actual WordPress app for the iPhone that I can now blog from if the mood strikes me. Of course with my previous setup I could probably log in and post something the hard way. But now I have a native app for it. Does that mean I’ll be posting more often now? No. Probably not. But it’s nice to know that I can if I want to.
New Fav Game
I’ve been spending time playing a new game lately. It’s called Hero of Sparta. And it’s pretty badass for an iPhone game. Specifically the controls are pretty awesome for such a device. You essentially have a joystick on the screen that functions as such. People keep trying to figure out what is so cool about this thing that really makes people get hooked. Well it’s games and things like this that really grab your attention. Look it up. It’s worth its very low price tag.
Apps Galore!
I’ve had quite a few apps already for my iPhone from when I had my iPod Touch. Plenty of games and a few other random things. I’ve also acquired a few more since getting the phone. I figured I’d share the most popular ones I have… or basically what I still have on my phone and use on a regular basis. I have over 60 apps downloaded in my iTunes, but they are not all on my phone. These are the ones I DO have on my phone… Real Racing – fantastic racing game! Fieldrunners – totally addictive tower defense …
Best Device Ever
Ask my girlfriend what I’m doing most nights at home while I watch TV or cook dinner or something and the response would typically be something along the lines of “playing games on his iPod.” That… or just generally being a PITA. Whatever. The iPod Touch is freaking awesome. I’m not sure how many of you knew that. I have something like 37 applications downloaded to it at this point from the iTunes App Store. Some paid, some free. Some games, some productivity. Just about anything, really. Fieldrunners is a great time wasting game; but also a crazy battery killer. …
