You can read about the absolute worst experience I've had over here.

This time it was a part for my brother's phone. He has a 3GS with what appeared to be a bad backlight on the display. So I ordered a replacement from leezlighting on eBay. You can still check out the item here.

The item description said the part was New and from the aftermarket with only the "mid frame" being refurbished. I also chose that particular auction because it said it was a US seller. I didn't want to wait 3 weeks for a shipment from China if I could help it.

So I placed the order on 6/16. I received it on 6/21 (which isn't bad). Immediately I saw that it was bad. The screen was fine but many of the components on the other side were bent or crushed. This was FAR from "new" or even "refurbished." So I immediately contacted the seller. As soon as I got the first email, I knew it was going to be a problem.

Dear buyer,
Thank you for your mail.
Would you mind return the item back to
us and we resent or refund to you?
And you also pay for the returned
postage.
What is your idea ?
Any problems can be free tell us.
Best wishes.

English is definitely not this person's first language. I replied the next day that I would like to return it and have them send a replacement part. Two days later I get THE SAME EMAIL AS ABOVE back the from the seller. Literally the same text.

I replied again and stressed that I'd like to return it and get a replacement. I just needed to know where to send the replacement. That was mailed on 6/26 with confirmation of delivery on 6/28. I did not hear anything for a few days and emailed on 7/2 to confirm it was received.

For the third time I was asked if I wanted a refund of replacement (this should have been a clue). I replied yet again to receive a replacement and gave my address. I got a reply back the same day with this text:

Dear friend,
Before we resent to you ,we should tell you about that .
If
you have no recieve the item secord time or receive a broken item ,we will
not refund or resent again .
Hope you can understand.
We will deal with it
soon after your reply.
If you have any question just feel free to contact
me, I will deal with it for you ASAP.
Best regards.

Ok... message received. This is the one attempt to make this right and that's all I get. Annoying, but fine. Just send the damn part. This was on 7/3.

Fast forward to today. I sent a message asking to confirm the replacement item was mailed to me. It had been 10 days since any other contact. This is the message I got back tonight:

Dear friend,

FOR REAL?! The SAME FUCKING MESSAGE?! AGAIN?! And does this mean my part has not been mailed? Were they waiting for some sort of response from the last one? Because it sure as hell didn't seem like it.

More frustrated now, I gave up. I just asked for a refund. Keep in mind, up until this point I've actually been very polite. I'm trying to just be patient with this, but it's very hard. So I get another reply tonight...

Yes ,we have mail you then ,but we
have no receive your mail about resent or not ,so we don't know your idea
,so we have no resent it to you ,hope you can understand us .

contact us ,we will solve it for you soon.

So what the hell does that mean? Did they NOT send the replacement? What the hell kind of response were they waiting for? WTF?! I replied one more time explaining that I just want my refund. If the part has really not yet been shipped, forget about it. Just give me my money back.

I'm sure it's not over at this point. Something tells me there's going to be 2 or 3 emails that make no sense before I ever get anything out of this deal. This person will definitely be getting negative feedback (maybe only the 2nd time I've had to leave anything negative on eBay, ever). Here it is nearly a month after the initial purchase and I have no usable part and no refund.

Bullshit.

By the way... here's a photo I took of the two parts (click for full size). The original from the phone is on the left. The part I received from eBay is on the right. Notice the lower left corner of each piece and what a mess the eBay one was. No thanks.
