Continuing on from yesterday's travel update, I didn't really get around to finishing that post. Two reasons... 1) it was already way too long and 2) I was freakin exhausted.
Moving right on then to a continuation of yesterday. I think I was up for a total of about 20 hours yesterday. LONG day. Was OK though, I slept fairly well. I always seem to use TV sleep timers in hotels though. Not sure why. Usually have a fan going at home, so maybe that's part of it. Or being in a strange place.
Even before that though, I had to get something to eat. It was a long day and other than a lame Burger King meal, I was starving. Poked around online and found a steakhouse nearby. Black Angus Steakhouse. Sounds manly. I had a 12 oz NY Strip, medium rare... and it was delicious. Was a bit more medium than rare, but that's OK. Was still really good. And being by myself, I just ate at the bar. Felt like less of a loser that way.
After eating, I recalled that it was supposed to be a gym day. Crap. Oh well, the hotel was supposed to have a gym... sorry, "fitness center" so I figured WTH, might as well go work out a little. So I corrected myself on the "fitness center" part because to call this a "gym" would have been an insult to gyms everywhere. Two treadmills and an elliptical. WTF. And they were all in like an 8' by 10' room. That was it. Fail.
Regardless, I still did a solid 15 min on the treadmill and then went to bed. I had work the next day...
I'm going to skip the work stuff b/c... well, it's boring, and I shouldn't be telling you about it in the first place. Moving right along, I had a pretty big choice to make for lunch. In-N-Out Burger or Fuddruckers? I had never been to either and they seem pretty famous... what to do, what to do.
In the end, In-N-Out won today... tomorrow may be a day for Fuddruckers, don't know. I had a double double with fries and a milkshake (no animal style though, sorry, no onions for me). The burger was pretty good. Not "incredible" or anything, but good. I even didn't mind the thousand island dressing or whatever their 'sauce' is. The fries? I would honestly give them a 2 out of 5 or something. They just weren't good. Too thin, no flaver, over salted. Just not my style. I'm sure some people like them and think they're amazing... but not this guy.
Now I just have to figure out what to do with myself this evening. I've gotten a couple suggestions. Both for dinner and for something to do. Really not sure. People keep suggesting Yelp... but I keep hearing bad things about Yelp and it makes me want to avoid it like the plague. We'll see I guess.
