I got part one of the 2010 Census today. It was really just a notice saying "the census is coming" ... ya? No shit.
Anyway, on the front of the envelope it says "an equal opportunity employer."
Am I opening a census or a job application? No, really, why would anyone think that needs to be on a random envelope of a notice for the census? WHY? Like someone is going to throw it out or not complete the census and say "Well fuck them... how do I know they don't discriminate when they hire? I'm not filling this crap out. That'll show them they should hire more hispanics and blacks!"
This is truly puzzling for me. I'm really trying to figure out the need to include something like that. The return address? Ya. Big "United States Census 2010" logo on the front? Ya. Equal opportunity employer? WTF?
