Please someone correct me on this if I am wrong... but are not the "bulk" and "self serve" kind of areas in a grocery store supposed to be cheaper than regular sized items? I mean, is that not the purpose of buying in larger quantities?

Turns out this is not always the case. I was stocking up on Reese's Pieces the other day (YUM!) to snack on at work and found the pound-ish bags. They were something like $3 a bag... figured I'd check out the bulk candy section to see how much I could save.

Not much apparently. They were almost $4 a pound from the bulk candy! WTH?! I was hoping to get a giant bag for some good money. No. I had to buy 3 separate bags to get a good price.

Silly grocery stores.
