I have been to the dentist's office 5 times in the last 5 months... 3 of those have been in the last 4 weeks. Before that, I hadn't been to the dentist for a cleaning or anything since I was 18; at least that I can recall. I feel like I have been to one since then, but really don't remember.

Anyway, why so many visits?

My first visit was just for x-rays and such - which indicated that I need to have one filling. Scheduled that for late November. While getting that filled, he took a second look at a couple other teeth he saw issues with and decided I needed a few more. Initially he thought they were OK, but after drilling the first one, it turned out worse than he though and the others warranted another look.

How many more? Four, apparently. Though I think one was a previous filling that he removed and filled again. One upper left, two lower left and just today I got the last one completed on the lower right. Finally.

I've had more needles stuck in my mouth in the last couple weeks than I've had all my life. Guess that's what happens when you finally get decent insurance - though each filling costs me something like $45 even after insurance.

Unfortunately I'm not even done. 🙁

I have an appointment in two weeks with an oral surgeon for a consultation on getting my wisdom teeth (or "third molars") pulled. I am NOT looking forward to that.
