What the fuck is wrong with this guy? And this state?
That is why, in the state budget I presented last Tuesday, I proposed a tax on sugared beverages like soda. Research has demonstrated that soft-drink consumption is one of the main drivers of childhood obesity.
Where do I start...
Oh I don't know... hows abouts... how the hell does it become my problem that parents let their kids drink so much soda that the kids get fat? Why should MY non-diet soda be taxed for that? WHY?! It just doesn't make any sense to me.
Why do we keep pushing things away from the parents? Why is it no longer their responsibility to try to keep their kids eating right and exercising? Apparently it is a state issue now?
I believe we can ultimately curb the obesity epidemic the same way we curbed smoking: through smart public policy.
Ya... because NO ONE smokes anymore... (I'm rolling my eyes right here, you just can't see). Good job there.
Here's the whole
joke article. What a sad, sad proposal.
